Gathoni , a Kenyan citizen, was born and brought up in Komothai Village in Kiambu County. She is a mother and a wife. She is a re-known and established scholar who holds a Master Degree in Journalism and is currently writing her PhD thesis. She has also been a mentor to many journalists for the last 21 years. Gathoni has been at the forefront promoting family values, social cohesion and cultural heritage through a serial program Muiguithania, that reconciles people.

Gathoni has a tendency to always go the extra mile seeking to understand the root causes of problems prior to addressing their symptoms.

We owe it to ourselves and to the future generations to elect leaders who have the capacity to change our livelihood and living standards, so that we can bequeath our children a sustainable world that benefits us all. Rich in resources, Kiambu County’s potential is yet to be fully utilized. I believe we can turn these resources into valuable economic pillars.
